Description
Your Aquaclipse ozone system relies on corona discharge CD cells to generate ozone. Each cell produces 1/4 gram of ozone per hour, and the Aquaclipse uses four cells simultaneously. When one cell fails, total ozone output drops by 25 percent. That reduction is enough to allow bacteria, iron, and other contaminants to slip through even while the rest of the system is running. Ozone generation failure from a single degraded cell is easy to misdiagnose as a larger system issue.
The WDUVB is a compatible replacement CD cell sold individually for Dell's Aquaclipse system. The power supply on this unit is 1/8 inch wider than the original OEM and mounts at a 90-degree rotation, secured with two self-starting drill screws into the aluminum mounting plate. No additional drilling or modification is required beyond this.
Note: The original OEM CD cell has been discontinued by Dell. Order multiples to keep spares on hand.
Specifications:
Type: Corona discharge (CD) cell
Ozone output: 1/4 gram per hour per cell
Sold: Individually (Aquaclipse requires 4 cells total)
Power supply: 1/8 inch wider than original OEM
Mounting: 90-degree rotation, two self-starting drill screws
OEM status: Original Dell part discontinued
Compatible with:
Dell's Aquaclipse ozone system (requires 4 CD cells per unit)
Compatible corona discharge ozone generation systems
Features
Each WDUVB cell contributes 1/4 gram of ozone per hour, maintaining the full ozone output your Aquaclipse system needs across all four cell slots.
Buying individual cells lets you replace only the failed unit rather than the full set, reducing the cost of each maintenance cycle.
With the original Dell OEM cell discontinued, the WDUVB is currently one of the only compatible options available to keep older Aquaclipse systems running.
The two-screw mounting design keeps the power supply firmly seated during continuous operation without requiring any permanent modification to the system.
Reliable corona discharge ozone generation protects against bacteria and contaminants in residential well water without chemicals or UV lamp components.
Frequently Asked Questions
-
The Aquaclipse uses four CD cells simultaneously. This listing is for one cell. If multiple cells have failed or you want to replace the full set, order four units. Keeping a spare on hand is recommended given that the original OEM part has been discontinued.
-
The 1/8 inch difference in width is accommodated by rotating the power supply 90 degrees during installation. Two self-starting drill screws secure it to the aluminum mounting plate. Beyond that, no modification to the system is needed.
-
You are not required to, but it is worth considering. Cells installed at the same time tend to degrade on a similar timeline. Replacing one now and finding another has failed three months later means two service events instead of one. If the cells have been in service for a year or more, replacing the full set restores balanced output across all four slots and resets the maintenance clock.
-
It depends on the condition of the rest of the system. If the Aquaclipse has been off for months or years, inspect the other components before installing new CD cells. Moisture inside the unit, corrosion on electrical contacts, and dried-out seals are common issues after extended downtime. Installing a new cell into a system with other underlying problems will not restore full function.
