The Part That Generates Your System’s Ozone

The UV lamp inside your Triple O UV system is the core of the ozone generation process. The UV technology works by passing ozone air through a chamber where a high-intensity UV bulb converts oxygen into ozone. Without a functioning lamp producing adequate UV output, the ozone generator cannot create the ozone gas that treats your water. Over time, the quartz sleeve solarizes and becomes increasingly opaque, blocking the UV wavelengths needed for ozone production. The lamp may still glow, but ozone output drops steadily as the glass degrades.

Replacing the UV lamp every 18 months per the manufacturer’s guidelines is the single most important maintenance step for keeping your Triple O system treating water at full capacity. Whether your system serves a dedicated well water setup or works alongside drinking water systems and other filtration, the UV light is what makes the entire treatment process possible.

WHL102: Replacement UV Lamp

The WHL102 is a replacement UV lamp rated for 10,000 lamp hours. It fits the improved WLH101 lamp housing and is also compatible with the Revolution Ozone SLA-2000. Unlike the original UV plastic lamp assembly that ships with the TL01, the WHL102 uses upgraded materials that resist ozone degradation. This is the most affordable option for homeowners who already have the WLH101 housing installed, since you only replace the bulb itself rather than the entire assembly.

WHL101: Compatible Triple O Lamp with Improved Housing

The WHL101 is a complete replacement UV lamp assembly built with ozone-compatible materials and CNC-machined construction. It is designed as a direct replacement for the original Triple O lamp assembly. After the initial installation, subsequent replacements only require swapping the WHL102 UV bulb inside the WHL101 housing, which makes long-term maintenance simpler and more cost-effective.

TL01: Triple O Original UV Lamp

The TL01 is the original Triple O lamp. It is a light-duty unit without a removable UV lamp, which means the entire assembly gets replaced each time. This option is best for homeowners who want to keep using the factory-original configuration without switching to the improved WHL101 housing.

When to Replace Your Triple O UV Lights

Replace your UV light every 18 months regardless of whether it still lights up. The quartz sleeve solarizes gradually, and ozone output can drop significantly before the lamp visually appears to be failing. When you swap the lamp, also replace the check valves, inspect the tubing and diffuser stone for wear, and verify your system’s performance with water pressure gauges. If your Triple O system feeds into a UV filter or other downstream treatment, the lamp’s output directly affects how well those stages perform. Servicing these components at the same time keeps the entire ozone generation path working consistently.

Never Miss a Lamp Replacement

A Triple O system running on a degraded UV lamp produces less ozone every day, and the decline is invisible until water quality problems return. AutoShip delivers your replacement lamp on an 18-month cycle so the new unit arrives before the old one’s output drops below effective levels.
