Description

Your reverse osmosis membrane is the most expensive component in your 3M system, and it is also the most vulnerable to chlorine damage and sediment fouling. Without proper pre-filtration, chlorine in municipal water can degrade the membrane over time, while dirt and particulate matter from well water can clog it prematurely. Either problem shortens membrane life and reduces water quality long before the membrane itself should need replacing.

The 3MKOPRE is a dual-stage filter that combines sediment filtration with carbon treatment in a single cartridge. In a 4-vessel system, it serves as the number 2 filter. In a 3-vessel system supplied by municipal water, it serves as the number 1 filter, since carbon pre-treatment is the priority for chlorinated city water. The filter reduces chlorine, sediment, and other impurities, which protects the RO membrane and also improves the taste and odor of your water before it reaches the purification stage. It is compatible with the 3MROP12 filter.

Specifications:

  • Filter life: Up to 12 months

  • Application: Sediment and carbon pre-filtration

  • Reduces: Chlorine, sediment, taste, and odor

  • System fit: 3M multi-vessel RO systems

  • Function: Protects RO membrane and downstream filters

Compatible with:

  • 3M 3-vessel RO systems (municipal water applications)

  • 3M 4-vessel RO systems

  • Systems using the 3MROP12 filter

Features

  • Treating water for both chlorine and sediment in a single cartridge means the RO membrane downstream receives water that has already cleared two common fouling risks before purification begins.

  • Chlorine reduction at this early stage prevents the kind of oxidative damage that shortens RO membrane life over time.

  • In 3-vessel municipal water systems, the 3MKOPRE takes on the number 1 filter role, prioritizing chlorine removal where it matters most for that water source.

  • Compatibility with the 3MROP12 filter makes the 3MKOPRE a straightforward replacement without needing to source a separate part number.
